In this session, Mia will walk you through her unique and multifaceted journey to one of the top public universities in the nation 🐻💙.

As an AP Scholar with Distinction 📜, a 1520 SAT scorer 🧠, and a dedicated tutor with over three years of experience 📚, Mia has helped more than 30 high school students navigate college apps, prep for standardized tests, and write winning essays ✍️. She’ll share real strategies that helped her stand out in the competitive UC system.

At UCLA, Mia balances a demanding STEM course load with research in four labs 🔬 at UCLA Health and USC Keck School of Medicine, studying everything from autism in children 👶 to AI innovations 🤖. Her interests span law ⚖️, medicine 🩺, and technology 🧬, and she’s currently an editor for UCLA’s Latinx Pre-Law Journal and a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Med Honor Society 🧪.

This summer, she’ll intern at Caruso 🏙️ as a Technology Intern, applying her coding and AI skills to create cutting-edge digital solutions 🔧.

A current Pre-Law second year Cognitive Science and Data Science Engineering student at UCLA, Mia has been tutoring students for over three years in subjects such as AP Calculus, AP Statistics, and AP Psychology. As an AP Scholar with Distinction who scored a 1520 SAT, she has extensive experience in test-taking guidance and college essay assistance for more than 30 high school students. Leveraging her STEM background, Mia is currently involved in four research labs across both UCLA Health and the USC Keck School of Medicine, conducting research on a diverse set of topics ranging from children’s autism to artificial intelligence. Currently on the Pre-Law track, she also acts as an editor for UCLA’s Latinx Pre-Law Journal, contributing to publications that explore the intersection of law, technology, and social justice, with a focus on issues impacting the Latinx community. Additionally, she is part of a Pre-Medical Honor Society called Alpha Epsilon Delta which has sharpened her knowledge of the medical field and strengthened her commitment to interdisciplinary work at the intersection of medicine, law, and technology. This upcoming summer, she has earned an internship with Caruso as a technology intern who will apply her coding skills and passion for artificial intelligence to develop innovative digital tools, automate internal processes, and explore AI-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency across Caruso’s LA-based properties. Excited to share her experiential knowledge with students, Mia is eager to guide them through the complex college application while providing test preparation skills to help students build their skills and confidence to excel in their educational and professional journeys!
