Dr. Barnard received his medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency there as well. His research, funded by the NIH, paved the way for viewing type 2 diabetes as a potentially reversible condition. He is the author of a great many books on nutrition, including his latest, Your Body in Balance: The New Science of Food, Hormones and Health. In his latest study, his research team found a way to knock out menopausal hot flashes for many women, using a simple diet change.
