Teen Eating Issues

About

The number of teenage girls with eating disorders has increased dramatically since the start of the COVID pandemic. A new study, published in the Lancet Child And Adolescent Health journal found that since March 2020 eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia were 42% higher than would be expected for teenage girls aged 13-16, and 32% higher for those aged 17-19. Eating disorders can affect many adolescents and so we want to talk about the different types of eating disorders including restricted eating, anorexia, bulimia and bingeing. We'll hear from Dr Bryony Bamford and Specialist Dietitian, Cliona Brennan, from the London Centre for Eating Disorders about how you can support your young person on their recovery journey and how to support other family members.
