In Teenagers & Sex: The Reality Check, we’ll be talking with the team at Split Banana about the key conversations parents should be having with their teens around sexual education. This session will cover what teens need from Relationship & Sex Education, how parents can bridge gaps left by schools, and how to address topics like cultural sensitivities, pornography, consent, and social media safety.

Founders

Anna and Matilda, co-founders of Split Banana, bring a powerful perspective to Relationships and Sex Education (RSHE) from their own experiences and years of working in London’s inner-city schools. Having faced pressures like sexting at age 13, an unintended pregnancy by 15, and public shaming over body image, they know firsthand the gaps in traditional education on these topics. Their experiences underscore a need for RSHE that goes beyond basic instruction to include open, inclusive conversations that reflect young people’s diverse realities.

Driven by a mission to provide students with better support and guidance, they aim to reshape RSHE to foster understanding, inclusivity, and self-respect, believing students deserve a curriculum that addresses real-world challenges rather than outdated basics.
